Your Appointment.
Consultation
Prescriptions and any treatment are provided only following a full initial consultation for at least 60 minutes in order to allow for a safe and effective medical assessment prior to your herbal treatment.
Follow-up Appointments.
Your follow-up appointment is advised usually between 4-6 weeks following the first consultation which allows enough time for treatment to be taking effect, and an evaluation of progress to be monitored reasonably.
However, in some cases if the condition is complex or the prescribed herbs require closer monitoring, then the follow-up appointment may be requested sooner. This will be fully explained and discussed with you when planning your treatment plan and prescription.
Although there is no obligation to attend the follow-up appointment, it is an excellent opportunity to make changes to a prescription if necessary, monitor the progress of treatment and condition as well as to address any concerns, therefore it is strongly advised.
In most cases, follow-up appointments may usually be carried out online, or by telephone appointment. The Apothēcary of Botanical Medicine may request an in-person contact for conditions that require a level of physical examination, and/or monitoring of the condition in order to proceed with the treatment effectively.
Repeat Prescriptions.
Once your condition is considered stable, and where the herbs in the prescription do not require higher levels of monitoring, the Apothēcary of Botanical Medicine will provide a repeated prescription of previous agreed herbal treatment, without the need for attending a further follow-up appointment to do so.
The Repeat Prescription request must be made within 6 months of the clinical examination, usually taken place at your initial consultation.
The Apothēcary of Botanical Medicine will not provide a repeat prescription after 6 months has lapsed since contact or follow-up. Therefore, it may be requested that you re-attend an appropriate level of follow-up contact at this time, in order to reset the repeat prescription service for ongoing orders after 6 months.
The Apothēcary of Botanical Medicine may refuse to provide further prescriptions until an appropriate follow-up meeting has taken place, or where it is felt to be unsafe or inappropriate to provide the requested prescription without it.
